Oh shit...

Christ these shoes over at Habitat are THE BOMB DOT COM! If only I had $170 to spare I would scoop them up! Also I've been on the heal hunt for a while, but mainly because I can't really wear anything higher than 3 inches, but that's sometimes pushing it. So I've been searching for up to date looking shoes and not to mention they have to meet some requirements and now that I found my awesome grey pumps I've been finding more and more heels that I want. The bad thing? They are all fairly pricey shoes, what can I say I have good taste haha.

Band of Outsiders

(found and the band of outsiders blog here)

Never have I ever wanted to try my hand at mens wear until  I spent a few hours shifting around the Band of Outsiders blog and website. I mean don't get me wrong, I've been an admirer for a while of this line, but you know once I get an idea in my head.... well shit just goes from there. I was just telling Julia that I really wanted to make a blazer for myself this fall/winter. It is pretty much my ultimate project, but now I'm so high on mens wear that I can't stop thinking about an amazing 3 piece charcoal suit. Oh god, just this about it for a minute...let it simmer... DO YOU SEE WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT NOW?! It's like trying crack. Now don't get me wrong, I totally understand that this task is unbelievably out of my sewing talent. It's the kind of project I aspire to complete, but leave behind halfway through. I've made a vest before, so I think that'll be a piece of cake. The pants could be tricky, however I've made pants before. The Blazer? God only knows how shitty that would turn out, but I'm ready for the adventure, I mean what else am I going to do once the wedding is over? So come on tell me this is a terrible idea, but that I should try it for the hell of it!

Since I'm on a roll...

I figured I'd just put up tons of projects I've been meaning to share with the whole 3 people who read this blog, ha. Anywho, this post is dedicated to the bridal shower favors I made. They were simple, yet they took a lot of effort. I had a difficult time choosing my fabric, but in the end I was satisfied. Since the shower was a tea party them I wanted some floral prints, because let's be honest they go hand in hand. So here are the prints I finally decided on, thanks to my sister who stuck around while I kept going back and forth.

(The colors are much more bright, this photo was taken at night under terrible lighting)

I cut them into 9x9" squares and then ran them through my serger!
Then I made small hang tags that read "Thank you for joining us! Please enjoy tea another day on us!"

Then I assembled the napkins with a mini scone and an early gray tea bag, which is Deanna's favorite tea and viola!

More embroidery work for family

So it seems that I always work on my embroidery on the couch with a cup of coffee, ha. It sounds just about right to me, how else should I go about it? Anyway, this project was for Madison's first birthday! Her parent's purchased this dress and asked me to put something special on it for the birthday girl's party. Here's a look!

(I don't know why, but this photo looks much different once I uploaded it)

I consider Deanna's family my own, because they are all so welcoming and loving to me. I have to say that I am lucky to have so many good people around me and don't even get me started on Jason and Deanna. I owe those two a lot for everything they have done for me.

Bridal shower invites

So I know I haven't updated in a very long time, but I have a few good excuses. For one work has been pretty crazy lately and my schedule has been all over the place. Second, I read the entire Twilight series in the last week and a half, which I know you are probably like "what an idiot" and go ahead and make fun of me, but I'm here to say that I LOVE TWILIGHT AND I DON'T CARE IF YOU MAKE FUN OF ME!  Ah, so now that this is out of the way, haha.
Another fun thing is that last weekend was Deanna's bridal shower! I was tons of fun and so I'm gonna share with you the invites I made and dragged Deanna into helping me with ha. She's a good sport, she's always willing to help slave over a project and hey she looks good doing it! Here's a picture of the beautiful bride working hard on addressing the envelopes:

The process was fairly simple, all I did was print out the information on velum sheets, which I love the way it looks when you stack them on top of each other like this:

Anyway so then we cut them down to the appropriate size and sewed them to a heavy card stock I found at Ben Franklin (craft store). It was like fate because the card stock was exactly what I was looking for, something bright and almost floral since the shower was a tea party theme. It was also nice that there were several different prints. I wish I had a better photo, but here's what they looked like in the end:
